NCTG (Norfolk Construction Training Group) is one of many regional Training Groups around the UK, funded and supported by the CITB (Construction Industry Training Board). The main focus of the group is to support small and medium sized construction businesses based, or working, in the East Anglia region by accessing good quality, value for money training.

There is a focused and driven team looking after the current 64 members on a day-to-day basis. Thegroup is supported by a Chairman and Vice Chairman who are industry professionals with a real passion for the ethos of training and the benefits it gives to companies working within the industry.

Due to the wide variety of industries the members work in, NCTG offer a range of different courses such as: Health & Safety at entry level for new recruits, Supervisor and Manager level for more experienced personnel, Training for Plant Machinery, Construction Equipment, courses for those who Work at Height and also sourcing longer period qualifications such as NVQ’s and Apprenticeships.

Having operated successfully for several years, strong connections with local training providers have been established which often enables members to benefit from exclusive discounted rates. Where there is sufficient requirement amongst the members, NCTG will arrange closed courses – resulting in further cost savings to the members.

NCTG have recently established a relationship with Training First Safety, so members are now able to access a wide range of E-learning courses at very competitive prices.

A complete package of services is provided – a “One Stop Shop” – for members including support with accessing available funding and/or grants, such as the CITB Skills & Training Fund, sourcing bespoke and specialist training and being a “Go-To” for advice and up to date industry news and information.

NCTG often attend local events to promote the industry and provide resources to young people who may wish to consider a career in construction. The group has also appeared on a podcast about apprenticeships in construction and continue to support the Local Enterprise Partnership Construction Working Party Groups where possible.
