Overview

A 4 day course consisting of 32 learning hours 50/50 practical and theory based.

The Course covers…

• the relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice relevant to servicing and maintaining portable fire extinguishers
• combustion, classes of fire, and extinguisher media
• fire extinguishers and their components
• selection and positioning of portable fire extinguishers

Candidates will be taught and will be expected to perform

• Commissioning
• Basic Servicing
• Extended Services
• Recharging

To pass the course candidates will need to pass a written paper and a one on one practical assessment. Not only does this course give candidates the competency currently needed to perform as a Fire Extinguisher Technician it also now gives them an SCQF Level 6 Qualification.
