    Who is Managing Safely for? Managing Safely is designed for manager and supervisors in any sector, and any organisation worldwide.   • Overview

    During the workshop, a Fit2Fit accredited tester will give the attendees an understanding of how to conduct face fit training themselves and gain knowledge on the variations of masks available. Delivered by a Fit2Fit accredited tester, the Face Fit Testing Workshop is designed to prepare delegates to be able to carry out Face Fit Tests competently.

    Throughout the day, topics covered include:

    • Health & Safety Law
    • Types of Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) and correct selection
    • Types of hazardous substances and their health impacts
    • Why Face Fit Testing matters
    • How to conduct a Face Fit Test

    What is required to pass the Face Fit Train the Tester Workshop?

    The delegate must show competence and understanding as they will need to be able to conduct Face Fit Tests themselves correctly. The delegate will need to successfully demonstrate a Face Fit Test and complete a written assessment. Once they have completed the above, the tutor will deem the delegates prepared to con-duct Face Fit Tests.
     
  • It’s a mandatory requirement under PUWER  1998 that all users must be competent and all users must be trained to ensure they have the knowledge, understanding and skills required to use tools safely at work.

  • CITB – Health and Safety Awareness

    Overview This course highlights potential hazards when working on site and provides practical advice on keeping yourself and your colleagues safe. It covers your individual and employer’s responsibilities, including what you can do if you think anyone’s health and safety is being put at risk. At the end of the course you will have an understanding of:
    • the need to prevent accidents
    • health and safety law
    • how your role fits into the control and management of the site risk assessments and method statements
    • performing safely and asking for advice
    • how to report unsafe acts to prevent an accident
    Certification for this course is valid for 5 years. To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the course before the expiry date
     
  • When working in confined spaces (CS) workers can become trapped or overcome by fumes, vapours, poisonous or explosive gases. Avoidable accidents happen in a wide range of industries as CS are not just tanks, vessels or chambers – spaces do not have to be totally enclosed to be considered ‘confined’. This course is about working in CS environments where there is a medium risk that a specified hazard may be present with also focusing on the time taken to evacuate increases risk to entrants. It will require the use of escape breathing apparatus. Employers must identify if a work activity, hazards and area of work is, or should be classed as a CS. Anyone working in a CS must be properly trained.

    • Hazards and risks – necessary precautions required
    • Understanding safe systems of work with particular reference to ‘permits to work’ where appropriate

    • Prepare and use escape breathing apparatus in accordance with manufacturers instructions
    • Practical session demonstrating safe exit procedures where delegates use breathing apparatus and 20mtr rescue winch.

    This course covers using a ladders and steps while working at height, we recommend delegates are trained in working at height which is a separate course and covers all aspects of working at height.
  • Manual Handling is the moving of any load by bodily force, including lifting, putting down, pushing, pulling or carrying. All employees by law should be trained in the correct techniques in association with the product/equipment they will be using during the working day.

  • This practical course aims to ensure that all buyers and users of Man-Safe as well as safety harness & lanyards understand which kit, they should be using to offer full protection, and how to properly inspect kit.

    • Responsibilities of the employer and employee
    • Different types of harnesses and lanyards and their practical applications
    • How to put on, fit, wear, work in and store the different types of harnesses
    • Importance of regular safety harness and lanyard inspections – who is responsible and how often they must be done with examples
    • Importance of issuing and using the correct Safety Harness and Lanyards and PPE and how to inspect it
     
     
    • How to collate a safe rescue plan to reduce the time an operative is suspended in a harness
    • Operative suspension trauma
    • Delegate practical session with adjustment and fitting of harnesses and lanyards
    • Man-Safe system – Inspection, testing, end user equipment
    • Different types of Man-Safe system systems including roof, wall and ladder systems
    • Practical demonstration of a Man-Safe system with trans fastener harness and lanyard

This practical course is not only essential for users of mansafe, fall arrest and/or restraint equipment, but is also aimed at their supervisors and managers, business owners and buyers of PPE equipment.
  • Safety Harness and Lanyards are an absolutely vital part of personal protection for anyone that is working at height. It is so important that the user knows how to inspect, and also use it properly. Working at Height is deemed any place that if the required precautions were not taken, the distance you could fall may cause personal injury. This is a practical course essential for users of fall arrest equipment; also useful for supervisors and managers, business owners and buyers of PPE equipment to ensure all buyers and users understand which kit they should be purchasing, issuing and using to offer full protection to operatives.  It also shows how to properly inspect kit.
