Safety Harness and Lanyards are an absolutely vital part of personal protection for anyone that is working at height. It is so important that the user knows how to inspect, and also use it properly. Working at Height is deemed any place that if the required precautions were not taken, the distance you could fall may cause personal injury.

This is a practical course essential for users of fall arrest equipment; also useful for supervisors and managers, business owners and buyers of PPE equipment to ensure all buyers and users understand which kit they should be purchasing, issuing and using to offer full protection to operatives.  It also shows how to properly inspect kit.

  • H&S Laws & Regulations – understanding your legal duty including Work at Height Regulations 2005
  • Responsibilities of employer and employee
  • Importance of choosing the correct harness
  • How to wear a harness properly with practical
  • Importance of regular safety inspections – who is responsible and how often they must be done with examples
  • Importance of issuing and using the correct Safety Harness & Lanyards and PPE and how to inspect it
  • How to collate a safe rescue plan to reduce the time an operative is suspended in a harness
  • Operative suspension trauma
  • Delegate practical session with adjustment and fitting of harnesses and lanyards
  • Test paper, questions, handouts and review

 

This course covers using a Safety Harness and Lanyard while working at height, we recommend delegates are trained in working at height which is a separate course and covers all aspects of working at height.
