    Course Overview

    The A61 Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) course will give you an understanding of the appointed person’s responsibilities and how to fulfil them. It will also provide you with the ability to interpret and apply sections 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the BS 7121 Safe Use of Cranes guidelines. If you already hold a in date CPCS A40 Slinger Signaller licence CPCS will grant delegates automatic entitlement to the A62 Crane Supervisor category on completion of this course.

  • Overview

    During the workshop, a Fit2Fit accredited instructor will give the attendees an understanding of how to conduct face fit training themselves and gain knowledge on the variations of masks available. Delivered by a Fit2Fit accredited instructor, the Face Fit Testing Workshop is designed to prepare delegates to be able to carry out Face Fit Tests competently.

    Throughout the day, topics covered include:

    • Health & Safety Law
    • Types of Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) and correct selection
    • Types of hazardous substances and their health impacts
    • Why Face Fit Testing matters
    • How to conduct a Face Fit Test

    What is required to pass the Face Fit Train the Tester Workshop?

    The delegate must show competence and understanding as they will need to be able to conduct Face Fit Tests themselves correctly. The delegate will need to successfully demonstrate a Face Fit Test and complete a written assessment. Once they have completed the above, the tutor will deem the delegates prepared to con-duct Face Fit Tests.

    Whether you’re a novice or have some basic working knowledge, this N010 telehandler training course will provide you with all you need to know in order to operate a telehandler forklift truck safely.  Through a combination of theory and practical learning, anyone attending this course will leave with a solid understanding of:
    • Current legislation related to the industry
    • Common hazards associated with heavy plant machinery
    • Health and safety best practice
    • Your role and responsibilities as a telehandler forklift truck operator
    • The manufacturer’s handbook for the specific machine you’ll be operating
    • Understanding the machine: locating controls and components and explaining their functions
    • Mount and dismount safely
    • Carry out pre-operational checks
    • Be able to start the engine, move off, manoeuvre to the work area and stop safely
    • Configure the telescopic handler for travel
    • Understand the complexities of travelling over different terrain, including hills, inclines, rough surfaces, confined spaces and open areas
    • Safely manoeuvre when laden and unladen

    Entry Requirements

    CITB Health, Safety and Environment test completed and passed within the last two years before the course start date or CPCS test date. A good level of written and spoken English is required to successfully complete this course.
